Do You Breathe In or Out?
Several years ago, at our annual brothers/brother-in-law golf bash, Jimbo and I are losing convincingly to his brothers Marc and Tom. When all hope was seemingly lost, Jim turned to me in the golf cart and said, “T, I’ve got one trick left…watch this”. Jim then proceeded to walk over to Tom and say very nonchalantly, “You’re hitting the ball great today. Tell me, when you swing do you breathe in or out”? Walking back to the cart, Jimbo said to me “Let’s just let that sit for a while”. Needless to say, within a couple of holes, Tom’s game had fallen completely apart. Tom came over to Jim and said, “I’ve been thinking about what you asked me for the last several holes and I can’t think of anything else. I DON’T KNOW if I breathe in or out and it’s been driving me crazy”. Jim looked at me, smiled with his head tilted in that Jimbo way, and drove to the 19th hole, our victory assured.
